“I expressed to my oncologist that I wanted no more sessions of treatments, no more chemotherapy, no more hospitals, no more ‘running races to the bathrooms’. The oncologist modified my treatment based on my needs, not the protocol used for all APL patients. He was treating me as an individual. I was not afraid to stand up for myself or others. It didn’t take long before I felt better each day. I survived leukemia.”
